Education & Training
Dr. Schell received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky (B.A. in Kinesiology, cum laude, 2007). He went on to earn an M.S. in Physiology & Biophysics (2008) and his M.D. in 2014 from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He then completed an Orthopedic Surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (2014–2019), where he served as Administrative Chief Resident in his final year. Following residency, Dr. Schell pursued advanced training with a fellowship in Complex and Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery at the Swedish Medical Center in Seattle (2019–2020).
Board Certification
Board certified in Orthopedic Surgery (American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, passed Part II in Sept 2022).
